Let the Announcements Begin!! Surprising the Reneaus!!!!

After receiving the wonderful news from the doctor we decided it was about time to start telling people!!!!  We got all geared up to tell the entire family in one weekend....it was a big task, but we were definitely ready for it!

We decided to start in Marble Falls with my mom and Tom.  We put Honey in a kennel, packed up all our stuff, created a large pink and blue bouquet for my mom and a miniature version for my nanna (tulips, hydrangeas, lilies, etc.), ordered pastel pink, blue, yellow, and white balloons from party city in Austin, and hit the road!

About 1/8th of a mile from my house we stopped at the top of the hill, tied the balloons all over the car, rolled down the windows, blared music, and drove up to the house with flashing lights and honking the horn!!  As soon as we pulled up Tom came out of the house, and I jumped out of the car holding the flowers.  Tom just looked at us for a little bit and then said, "Well....what's goin' on???!?!"

My only response was...."Is Mom here?" and he said, "yeah"...and I said..."Well can you go get her?" and he said, "Oh!!" and turned and ran in the house.  Evidently, when he ran in and told my mom we were here she said, okay I'll be there in a minute, I'm in the middle of something.  He kept urging her...No, no, you have to come now, and she kept resisting.  (This story made me definitely sure she had NO IDEA what was going on!).

Finally, she came out of the house, looked at the car, and me, and said, "Hi!!!.....is this all for me????" and I said, "Yes...and Tom."  She looked at me puzzled and said, "For Valentine's day?????" (It was the day after Valentines..).  I realized there was no way she was just going to guess, so I walked up closer to her and said......"Noooo......read my shirt...."  (I was wearing the blue one in the picture that says: Yes, I'm Pregnant)

Hehehe!!! She got the biggest smile on her face, gave me a huge hug, and was sooooo excited!!!!!  Tom couldn't believe it either, and even seemed to tear up when Jim asked him, "So, are you ready to be a grandfather?" and shook his hand.  He replied with an enthusiastic, "Yeah!" and gave me a big hug.

We had planned to just hang out at the house that evening and surprise Nanna the next day, but Mom just couldn't wait to tell more people, so, we called Nanna and made up some excuse why we needed to come out there at 10:30pm, loaded up the car, and hit the road once again.

We repeated exactly what we did at Mom's house with the balloons, music, lights, and flowers.  It was so much fun and Nanna was so excited and so surprised!!!  Mom then proceeded to call my aunts and uncle and anyone else I would allow her to.

It definitely made the wait well worth it! :)
